Automations on the column you choose

Column automations let GitGumbo do the follow-up work when a card lands in a column: Mark draft MRs as ready, Assign to issue and Add MR reviewers. Until now, the column they fired on was worked out from its name. If your review column was called "In Review", it worked. If it was called "Code review" or "Waiting on QA", it didn't.

Now you pick it. In Settings → Column Automations, each recipe has a Column choice listing the columns on that project's board. That includes GitLab Status columns, so a board built on statuses can run automations too.

The nudge knows where you were

When you drag a card with a draft merge request into a column you haven't set up, the board asks: "Want GitGumbo to handle this for you?" Set this up now opens the automation settings for that project and that column, already selected, rather than leaving you to find them.

Column automations work on every plan, on GitLab and GitHub.
