Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 4, 2026

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using GitGumbo, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

Description of service

GitGumbo is a kanban board tool that connects to your GitLab and GitHub accounts to display your issues and merge requests in a unified board view. It enriches each card with live data such as pipeline status, merge conflicts, review threads, and more.

GitGumbo is offered on a free tier and on paid plans sold per seat. The plans, their prices, and what each one includes are set out on our pricing page, which forms part of these terms.

Account & authentication

GitGumbo uses OAuth to authenticate with your GitLab or GitHub account. GitGumbo never sees or stores your password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs through your authenticated session.

Teams & seats

A GitGumbo team occupies one seat per person. Every plan sets a maximum number of seats, and both members and invitations you have sent but that nobody has accepted yet count towards it — so an outstanding invitation holds a seat until it is accepted, revoked, or expires. Once a team is at its limit, further invitations are refused until a seat is freed or the team moves to a larger plan. The seat limits in force for each plan are listed on the pricing page.

For the same reason, a team cannot move to a plan with fewer seats than it currently occupies: you will be asked to remove members or pending invitations first.

Billing, renewal & cancellation

Paid plans are billed per seat through Stripe, monthly or yearly as chosen at checkout. Payment details are entered with Stripe and are never seen or stored by GitGumbo. A paid plan begins with a 14-day trial and no payment details are required to start it.

Subscriptions renew automatically for a further period unless cancelled beforehand. Because plans are per seat, adding a person to a paid team increases the number of seats billed, and Stripe prorates that change against the current period.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal, reachable from your billing settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your team keeps its paid features until the end of the period already paid for, and that period is not refunded or pro-rated. If a payment fails, we may downgrade the team to the free tier once the paid period has lapsed. We may change our prices, in which case the new price applies from your next renewal.

Data access & storage

GitGumbo requests only the API scopes necessary to read your issues, merge requests, pipelines, labels, and review threads. All OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. GitGumbo does not access, read, or store your source code or commit contents.

Your data rights

Under the GDPR and similar data protection laws, you have the right to access, export, and delete your data. You can exercise these rights through your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Third-party services

GitGumbo relies on the following third-party services to operate:

  • GitHub (github.com) — source of issues, merge requests, and webhook events
  • GitLab (gitlab.com) — source of issues, merge requests, and webhook events
  • Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing for paid plans
  • Sentry (sentry.io) — error monitoring
  • Our email provider — delivery of transactional email such as team invitations

What each of these receives is set out in our Privacy Policy.

User responsibilities

You agree to use GitGumbo in compliance with the terms of service of GitLab and GitHub, as well as all applicable laws. You must not abuse the service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use GitGumbo in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.

Service availability

GitGumbo is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GitGumbo and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Changes to terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of GitGumbo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
