A clearer Sync menu, closing from Status columns, and saved Insights filters

Three smaller changes landed alongside the new guides.

The Sync menu says what each choice does

The Sync ▾ menu on a board offers Sync and Full Sync, and until now it was up to you to know the difference. Each choice now carries a short line underneath:

  • Sync fetches what changed. It does nothing if the board synced in the last 30 seconds.
  • Full Sync re-reads everything. It always runs, once a minute per project, and that minute is shared by everyone in your firm.

Both work on every plan.

Close a card that sits in a GitLab Status column

Cards in a GitLab Status column couldn't be closed from the board; you had to close them on GitLab. Now you can drop them on Closed, or pick Closed in the move menu, like any other card.

Closing also changes the issue's status, to your project's default closed status. That's Done, unless your group has customised its statuses. GitLab sets it, and GitGumbo reads it back straight after closing, so the card shows the new status on the board's next refresh.

Saved filters in Insights

Insights is coming with the Team plan. Team isn't on sale yet; you can join the waitlist on the Pricing page.

  • Manage filters lists every saved filter you can use: your own and the ones shared with the team. You can rename or delete them there. Admins can also choose which shared filter is the team default.
  • Naming a filter now happens in a field right next to the buttons, instead of a pop-up box. Enter saves and Escape cancels.

The Stats and Insights guide has the details.
