Close an issue from the board
Finishing a piece of work used to mean leaving the board to close the issue. Now the board does it.
Drop a card on Closed, or choose Closed from the card's Move this card menu, and the issue is closed on GitLab or GitHub. The Closed column now shows even while it's empty, so there is always somewhere to drop.
GitLab and GitHub differ
- GitLab: the labels behind the board's lists are removed when an issue is closed, as GitLab's own board does. Changed your mind? Drag the card out of Closed into a column. It's reopened and given that column's value.
- GitHub: labels are kept when an issue is closed. Closed GitHub cards can't be dragged back out; reopen the issue on GitHub and it returns to its column.
You need permission to close the issue on the provider. Everything else works on every plan.
